What is a Drain Camera Inspection?
Closed Circuit Television Video (CCTV) drain inspection refers to the process of using a camera to see inside of pipelines, sewer lines, or drains. CCTV cameras allow us to see the root causes of your drain issues without needing to conduct more invasive methods like digging or removing walls or flooring to gain access to plumbing.
Why would you want to do a drain inspection?
There are several reason you would want to do a drain inspection and these include investigating:
1) Root intrusion
2) Cracked pipes
3) Deterioration of pipes and fittings
4) Severe blockages
Case Study:
In this case we were called out to do an inspection of the client's drain as they were experiencing frequent blockages. Even after they had people there to unblock the drain, the drain will block up again after just a few days. Upon inspection we found that there was a big accumulation of roots about 8 meters in from the inspection eye. The root accumulation was so severe that it would have been impossible to clear with any drain cleaning equipment. We were able to pin point the location of the affected area and we excavated and replaced this section, saving the client time and money by not having to replace the whole drain line.
